I just recieved an application to the Honors college in the mail, Schreyer College, does this mean that I have been accepted to Penn State? I never got anything in the mail telling me that i was accepted. Or do they just send it to everybody ..?

they send it to most everyone. It doesn't mean that you've been accepted.

They send it to many people. And let me be the first to tell you that it is a pain in the arse. (more teacher recs and 2 more essays.. :O )

It really doesn't mean anything, but I would encourage you to apply. I'm a freshman in Schreyer right now and being in the honors college has its distinct advantages. If you have questions about applying and SHC email me at khc123@psu.edu.

what are the avg. stats of people accepted into the honors college?

This is coming straight out of the admissions literature:
Average SAT: 1430
Average GPA: 4.08 out of 4, due to weighting

Needless to say, it is very competitive.
