<p>I think it’s very possible if your freshman year grades are very strong and your high school stats were strong. Make sure, though, to look at the graduation requirements for the honors college and plan your freshman year to mesh with them. For example you don’t need to take Writing 121/122 to graduate from the honors college, even though you would need it outside the HC as part of your general ed requirements. You may want to not waste the time and money on a GE class that won’t fill an HC requirement. If you don’t get into the HC for sophomore year, you can always then take those writing classes your second year and get that GE requirement done. You can take other things your freshman year that will both count toward the HC, but also fulfill the regular UO GE requirements. Math, science, foreign language, multicultural studies, etc.</p>
