<p>This might be a stupid question but say you apply to the honors college at a university and you are not selected, will you still be considered for admission/will it affect admission (lower chance) into the university?</p>
<p>Check at the individual college. If you have the appropriate stats to apply to honors college, then chances are your stats are on the high end of student body, so I don’t think it will lower your chances at all. Some schools may even have another program below honors but still with special opportunities</p>
<p>Some schools like Texas A&M have 3 (!) levels of Honors programs (University, College and Major) and they even let you transfer in to honors after the first year if grades are high enough. I wonder if it gets confusing for students to figure out pros/cons of each</p>
