Is honors college basically extra assignments and a few required classes? I'm trying to find a good incentive to join Calhoun HC at Clemson.

Do a search. There have been plenty of topics on this already. Also check in the parents forum for info on this. I personally don't think that prospective employers are going to care if graduate with a 3.8 w/honors or a 3.8 w/o honors but grad schools may favor you because you had honors over someone who didn't. There are more important things in college that you can devote your time to... internships, research opportunities, sports, clubs, etc, etc. Like I said, do a search.

Kids in Calhoun Honors at Clemson do have some extra opportunitities. Having an honors advisor on top of your regular major advisor is one that many students take advantage of. There are additional programs offered to Honors students (ie Dixon Fellows, etc). Advance notice of special lectures programs and often free or less expensive tickets to events. The 3.4 required cummulative GPA to stay in honors can be tough depending on your major. I would say that you have more to gain than to lose by joing Calhoun honors. Give it a shot.

So can I drop out after the semester if i really don't like it?

I don't see why you wouldn't be able to do that. Ask Clemson that question.
