Honors College

Is there anybody that knows about the experience in the Honors College? Do the students get any perks?

I'm afraid to go to Pitt because I don't want to get "lost in the crowd" of a large school, but I'm not sure if being in the Honors College gives you the right amount of academic distinction.

Any parents or current students know?

1- better housing options (forbes hall Freshman year, Forbes Craig sophomore/junior year)
2- really cool opportunities (guest lecturers, cheap tickets to events, etc.)
3- get networking group
4- money (to start a club, to do a study, etc.)
5- Honors classes (if you’re in the college you can sign up for any honors class you want without permission, I think there are SOME exceptions for electives)

I was worried about Pitt being too big of a school to attend, but the honors college is a small group of students and you’ll really enjoy it, especially if you live in Forbes!

Feel free to PM with additional questions or post here.
