Thank you for the response!

I have a ton more questions but one in particular is how does an honors seminar differ from a DEC course?
I know for med schools, there are certain prereqs. We’ll all have to take Intro to Bio. What will their course have that mine won’t? Also, are the course names different too?

Double up on honors seminars? So if in one semester (sophomore year), if one generally takes 4 classes, I’ll have to take 8?
That is so intense…

I want to major in Bio and maybe minor in Phil? That’s a maybe and I’m not totally sure.

These are the general prereqs for medical schools that I want to go to:
ENGLISH One year of college English to include the study of English composition
PHYSICS One year of college Physics (with lab)
CHEMISTRY Two years of college chemistry to include the study of inorganic chemistry, quantitative analysis and organic chemistry (with lab)
BIOLOGY One year of general biology (with lab)
MATHEMATICS One year of college mathematics to include the study of introductory calculus and statistics
SPANISH

Thing is…I’ll be graduating with AP Bio (5), AP Physics B (5), AP Physics C (5 on both), AP Stats (5), AP Calc BC (5), and AP English Lit (5).

I don’t know if should skip intro courses and take higher level courses or if I should just do regular intro courses because I know med schools LIKE to see the prereqs. I don’t know what to do! SB has a premed advisor right?

Won’t I get to choose my courses freshman year? Also, how many courses does one typically take in 1 sem? And whats the max? Also, they say “1 year of x” - so that technically means I’ll need to take Bio both semesters frosh year?

I’m a smart kid, but I was lazy my first two years of hs. I’ll PM you my stats.

SO SORRY FOR THE ABUNDANCE OF QUESTIONS…
Thanks so much for taking your free time to help hopeless high schoolers like myself.

Sorry; confusion. The HC seminars are taken one per semester; so if you join in your second year, you’ll need to make up those two seminars, eating up three credits twice.

As a general rule, med programs want to see college math/science in college. If you’re coming in with APs, then jump into Honors Chem or Honors Calc, but don’t skip it entirely. And yes, one year means two semesters.

Yes, we have a pre-professional advising center that will help you work all out this stuff.
