HONORS course Vs. REGULAR course (@ MSU)

I'm wondering what the difference is between say a regular chemistry course and an honors chemistry course. Is it that there is more depth in the latter? Does the latter have more... oh I don't know "home-work", lab write ups, etc? I've successfully taken AP BIO and several other APs. Any AP's that are basic courses for my major I plan to retake in college anyway. But to make it challenging I may want to do an Honors option for those courses I've done AP in. I haven't done AP Chem or AP Physics and am wondering what the difference in rigor is between the general version and the honors version at MSU.

I appreciate any input. If you have experience in the matter please mention that. (it's not very easy to get reliable sources these days)

Thanks.

Unless you you are taking AP chemistry and plan on getting a 5, have taken the AP chemistry test and got a five, or you are a chemistry major, do NOT take honors chemistry. It is VERY difficult and doesn’t cover the basic information that normal chemistry does. Honors chemistry expects that you have already mastered the concepts of chemistry. The main focus of the class is electrons- quantum mechanics, electron theories and so on.
That being said, normal chemistry is a very hard course as well. If you haven’t taken AP chemistry, be prepared to study and do a lot of work!
