This is a very materialistic question, so please know that there are many other factors going into this choice!

I have to choose between my safeties in the next couple of weeks so that I don't keep them waiting until the last possible day (I want someone else to get the chance to be accepted). Soooo

which of these would be looked more highly upon by employers, etc for job placement/grad school:

Iowa State + Honors
University of Wisconsin-Madison (no real honors program but it is considered a better school)

Any other things I should be considering because of this?

in the end i understand that rankings matter little, but you don't think in the 40s vs. 80s will matter much? it seems like really all anyone would pay attention to is if it was in the top 20s, etc...

Go to Wisconsin. Its nationwide name recognition will allow you to get a job anywhere as opposed to mostly in Iowa if you were to choose ISU. Also, anecdotal evidence from friends has painted a picture for me of a combination of great academics and a great social scene at UW-Madison.

Yeah, I'd say to say University of Wisconsin- Madison. Iowa State may be offering you honors but there's no guarantee that their honors is even on level with UW. Unless, IS gives you merit aid, I don't see a reason to go to them over UW.

I'm just going to add to the chorus, Wisconsin-Madison hand down. It has a reputation that even a native New Englander like myself can respect. When I think of Iowa, corns...lot of corns.
