Honors Points and GPA

When I am reporting my unweighted GPA for college apps and scholarship information, am I allowed to include any honors points that I receive for taking advanced classes?

For clarification, my school still uses an unweighted scale to calculate GPA. However, they will add an additional 7 points to each class that is considered an honors or AP course on my transcript. I am assuming that most colleges will be aware of the procedures that each high school incorporates.

Additionally, my unweighted GPAs with and without the honors points are significantly different, and I would obviously report the higher of the two. I’m just unsure what they’re looking for.

Here is a definition of unweighted GPA from a two second google search:
“Unweighted GPAs are measured on a scale of 0 to 4.0 and do not take the difficulty of your courses into account. This means that an A in an AP class and an A in a low-level class will both translate into 4.0s”

…So no extra points for harder classes should be included in an unweighted GPA.

Keep in mind that colleges will get your official transcript as well as high school profile so admission officers will know the rigor of your HS curriculum.
