Honors program application--unclear

Hi
My daughter applied EA to Drexel. On the Common App she checked off that she was interested in the honors college. She completed a supplemental essay for her intended major, but nothing ever came up saying that there was anything else required for the Honors college application. The other day she got nervous and looked at the Pennoni Honors college page and saw that it said that there was supposed to be a supplemental application. She wrote to the program but they said it is too late since she missed the deadline, and told her she could apply next year as a Freshman for the following year. This seems illogical since if she was applying to Drexel Regular Decision she would still have time to do the Honors supplement. I am not sure why she never got the info about there being a supplemental application. Am I being unrealistic to expect that they could be a little looser with their deadline in this case?

hi i applied to Drexel EA and as well to their honors college. For Pennoni Honors College I got an email 2 or 3 day after i submitted my application for EA, maybe she got an email from Drexel but didn’t think it was anything special, i would check her email to see if she got anything about Pennoni Honors from Drexel. But yea tbh i feel they could have given more time for it since it was a little long of an application.

Actually I just looked at her email and there was no email from them, and no password to the Discover Drexel portal. However, I made her write back to the woman from the honors college again and ask if they could put her application in Regular decision to allow her to apply to the honors program. They agreed to that, so now she can do the honors application by the Regular Decision deadline. I hope that not applying EA doesn’t affect her chances…

I don’t think it will, my cousin went to drexel and she did RD; i think ur daughter will be fine…just wondering is Drexel her top choice?

It is one of them. She is interested in animation but wants it to be with an emphasis on computers. Drexel and Northeastern have similar programs and she will probably end up at whichever one gives her the best offer (provided she gets in).
