Honors Program: Chance + Info

Hello! I’m applying to the University of Delaware as my second choice school, and I’m pretty confident I’ll get in. However, I’m not so confident regarding the Honors program - I know I’m a good student, but I don’t quite know much about the program or it’s applicants. Can anyone give me some information about the program (it’s benefits, what I should expect, etc), and chance my application for it?

An Other recommendation from University of Delaware professor Alan Fox, who I took a class with over the summer, and another recommendation from my school librarian.

Essays: Common App essay taking the first prompt (the “key aspect of your identity” one), discussing how I am a transgender female and how this aspect of my life has affected and continues to affect my life. [http://tinyurl.com/o9owhey] Honors essay discussing how I believe homophobia, transphobia, and ableism are extremely important social issues that must be amended. [http://tinyurl.com/ob7fghv]

I would say it’s very likely you’ll be accepted. Fantastic job on your essays, and if your recommendations are as you say, I think you should be feeling very good. SATs could be higher, but it is UD, not an Ivy so it shouldn’t negatively affect your chances too much. You seem like a very dedicated student and I hope your efforts work out for you.

I’m OOS but for reference I was accepted into the honors program last week with a 2200 (my math and writing are higher than yours but my reading is lower than yours)
