Good Luck!

Dec. 1st

You have first consideration for admission.

From what I have heard from people in the Honors Program, the better housing and smaller classes are great pros. But if you’re not lets say an English person, you are forced to take the Honors English course. You can take Honors classes without being in the Honors Program on a space-avaliable basis too.

Chances are based on what you’re planning on majoring in.

My D is very happy with the honors program. The housing is really, really nice. New, lots of amenities. There are honors events and activities all the time, there is extra support by way of a Russell Fellow. The best thing my D has found so far is the early registration. She registered two days ago and non honors students in her year don’t register until next week. She got into every class that she had wanted.

This might be interesting <a href=“Honors College | Challenge. Enrichment. Community.”>Honors College | Challenge. Enrichment. Community.;

D is also very happy with the Honors Program. All Honors students (class of 2014) are being housed in Russell this year. Russell does have the best dining hall so it’s convenient(her friends trek to Russell dining to eat). Her assigned advisor has been very helpful—especially since she is changing majors. Today is English Day for registration for Honors Students so she’s logging on to get the class she wants due to the early registration perk. She has also taken advantage of the free music lessons and gets credit for them.

Yet, her roomie, a ChemE major in Honors is not staying in the program next year. Her courses are difficult enough and then no need to take the required English Honors stuff. There’s a lot of work for Honors English so it will depend on your planned major for the pros and cons.
