My D has been offered the Honors Program as well as DSA. We will be attending that weekend and looking forward to it as it will be our first visit.

S got the DSA and Honors Program. Also TECHS (Engineering Honor Society) so he is going to Engineering Scholar Days (4/8) instead of Honors Weekend. Sorry we'll miss you. He will be the one who wishes he were 6' tall, but isn't. Anyone going to Engineering Scholar Day? (Of course, now that I've said the above, I can never identify us, under pain of death).

the DSA i'm assuming is the dean's scholorship...with an A at the end(?). If you don't mind, can i ask how much that is? I recieved one, but i'm not sure if it was the DSA.

I think I know the acronyms:
DHS - Dean's Honor Scholarship - full ride, requires separate application and special project.
DSA - Distinguished Scholar Award - $22K, no special application required
Founders - less than DSA ($15K?), also no special app required

DSA and Founders are per year, renewable if keep GPA at acceptable level(2.8 I believe)

There are others, esp. for La. residents, which I'm not familiar with.

DHS is full tuition. Some folks call that "free ride." To me, full ride means both tuition as well as room/board. But I have seen both interpretations.

Our son got the DSA, too, which is nice because, once they add the extras to it based on need, it becomes the basis for a very generous package! He's leaning VERY hard toward Tulane these days even without all his letters in.

Yeah, we're from right outside of Asheville. We're actually going to fly because I have to be back at school as soon as possible for a Relay for Life event I have to run (very tight schedule haha). Plus my school is not too generous with the attendance policy. I had to drive down once when I was little and my family went to New Orleans so I remember how far it is---I guess if I'm there next year I will be doing it again!
