Is the honors program, and living in International Village worth it? I've heard the dorms/food are a lot nicer as a freshman but it's very secluded from the rest of campus? Is this true?

Food really isn’t an appreciable difference. You can go to any dining halls regardless of what buildings you live in, and each dining hall has its strengths and weaknesses.

IV is much nicer than the Freshman dorms, though from what I’ve seen, the Freshman dorms are above average for Freshman dorms, and certainly aren’t uncomfortable to live in.

IV is slightly secluded - squeezed in the Southwest corner of campus, and separated from the rest by a Subway Station. That said, it’s probably a sixty second walk through the station to the main campus, and a ~5-8 minute walk to the Freshman dorms. If these times seem an insurmountable obstacle, then it might seem secluded. I’ve personally never met anyone who actually had a problem with it. If a short walk is enough of an obstacle to make a difference to your experience, then you probably have bigger problems (even with public transit, short-long walks are a fact of life in Boston).

Also, another thing to consider: who or what are you worried you’ll be secluded from?
