I applying to UT at Austin Engineering and business honor programs. Whenever I try to search for the honors application I cant find it. The UT website always directs me to the "ApplyTexas" page. Do i have to finish the Texas common application before I can see the honors application? If there is a honors application, then how long is it? and do you have to write anymore essays?

It is on the check your status page under Honors App. And yes, there is one more essay to write: the dreaded one

Yes, you have to completely the Texas Common App before you can view the honors application.

After you have completed the Common App, log onto your UT EID and the honors app should be available.

There isn't an essay for honors programs, just a short academic statement saying what your academic goals are.

No theloneranger, the dean's scholars essay about "a belief you accepted at some point in your life but have rejected on the basis of a rational process." Seriously, this essay is somehting of an essay.

It depends on the Honors Program. Some, like Plan II, do not require anything terribly difficult. Others, like Deans Scholars, have intense extra essays (I didn't apply to Deans because of the essay alone...couldn't write anything good). Check the BHP website, it should clarify everything for you.

I was talking specifically about the honors application. I believe the Dean's thing is a supplemental essay (Essay F, I think).

ok then loneranger you're right.

the honors application is pretty short in and of itself. but as someone else said, there's an essay for business and there's another short essay (<300 words) for engineering about an engineering topic of your choice. mines pretty lame...
plus you have to make a resume.
