So at my school AP classes don’t exist. We just have honors and regular. So I guess our honors are equivalent to AP. Anyway, I’m an incoming sophmore and in freshman year, let’s just say physics wasn’t my best subject. I was in honors and ended up getting a B. However my teacher is moving me down to regular chemistry for 10th grade due to my final exam grade. My question I guess is how do colleges see this as? Coming into a new private school, I guess it was more difficult for me to adjust and I just didn’t get it. I know I’m going to work my butt off to get an A in chem and move back up to honors junior year. But do colleges see this as terrible? I’m not saying I’m aiming for Ivies but I’m aiming to go to a school around that type of level. Will they still accept me?
No, they wont see it as terrible @Jessica135. A “B” in honors is respectable, especially considering your school doesn’t offer AP.
But keep in mind you need really good grades in difficult courses and high test scores if you’re aiming for the level slightly below Ivy.
