Honors USH OR APUSH?

Ok, so I am a rising junior. I will be taking 2 AP’s of which include APUSH and AP stats. Now, I am not a great history person. I have not taken AP history before. (4~5 AP’s in senior year, approximately school offers about 12) Now, is it better off taking the APUSH with the fact that APUSH is an AP course after all? or taking honors US history instead of APUSH to save and protect my GPA? I do really need a serious answer at this point.

Yes.

Does your school not weight APUSH more than honors. Regardless, if you are “a great history person” I’m not sure what you’re nervous about, and you certainly can’t assume you would do worse in APUSH.

BTW, many schools limit AP courses to juniors and seniors, so for many students, APUSH is their first exposure to AP; your situation is not unique. If you think you can handle it, go for it.

For our school, AP multiplies by 1.1, Honors by 1.06.

A .04 GPA difference isn’t really too significant. If the difference tells you anything and you are worried about your weighted GPA, just take APUSH.

You have no good excuse not to challenge yourself and take the AP if you’ve been taking honors classes up until now.

Also a rising junior, and I will be taking APUSH this year. Now, I DID take Honors US History in my sophomore year, so I’m probably slightly more prepared than you are, but to be entirely honest, I haven’t retained a whole lot of the knowledge. I absolutely hate history.

APUSH is obviously more intensive than Honors US History would be. I agree with other posters on here, you should definitely try to push yourself. It won’t be easy, but at the same time, there’s no reason not to.

If you don’t mind me asking, what APs do you plan on taking in your senior year?

Umm…I am planning to take AP Bio, AP Calc(don’t know which one AB or BC, btw what is the diff anyways?), AP Spanish, AP Euro and AP Literature??? Not sure with the literature one thoo…
