Honors vs Ross

I am an incoming freshman accepted to the Honors Program. I have several questions about the program:
1. I plan to apply to Ross after freshman year. Will being an Honors student give me a boost for my Ross application after the freshman year? If yes, in what ways?
2. I heard that the Honors courses are harder and more difficult to get A. Is that true? If it is, when I apply to Ross, my GPA will consequently be lower than if I just take regular classes in the freshman year. How do students usually deal with this dilemma? For Ross admissions, which one is valued more? The GPA or the difficulty of the courses?
3. What will happen to my affiliation with the Honors Program if I am admitted to Ross? Will I still be an Honors student or will I have to choose only one of them? What do most Honors students choose to do in this situation?

Thank you for your help!

yes. Honors and engineering kids get into Ross in much larger proportions compared to regular LSA.

Also, honors will help you pad your GPA. Honors has inflated curves.

Bearcat, what exactly does “inflated curves” mean?

they set the curve higher because they ASSume the students are of higher caliber for honors classes. so instead of aiming to make the average of the class a B, they make it a B+ instead

Bearcats, are you in honors? I asked a similar question to someone else and he said that he thought the honors classes were slightly harder. He didn’t mention inflated curves…

i took a couple honors classes. Honors materials are slightly harder, as you said. but the curve being much higher easily compensates for that. And if you are capable, it’s easier to do well in honors than in regular weeder classes believe it or not, because in regular classes the margin for error is very small
