Hookah! [shisha]

I’m Persian so naturally it’s a part of my culture and I’ve been around it many many times. I’ve gone to hookah lounges and such with friends and smoked it at social gatherings. It’s fun to do once in a while but I try not to too often because I want to keep my lungs. And it’s really not safer than cigarettes, that’s just a big rumor. :P

I mean honestly, it’s pretty much inevitable that I’m going to get cancer so it doesn’t really matter. I’ll still die the same death.

Why don’t you just blaze instead of smoking hookah? it’s waaaaaaaaay more chill. I don’t know, I see hookah as pointless because it’s more expensive than a pack of menthols (I smoke though so I guess that could be why)

People like you REALLY **** me off. Grow up, you don’t need to justify your reason as to why you don’t smoke or act high and mighty because you don’t. It’s a lifestyle choice, I personally enjoy it, and yeah, sure you can find great ways to chill, but some people enjoy it.

^^^^ Mmmhmm. Well I just went out for a minute, and also worked out.

I work out on a regular basis. The last time I had fried chicken was a long time ago. The stuff’s too greasy.

And just because I say I can find a better way to chill that doesn’t involve smoking doesn’t mean I’m acting all high and mighty. You need to hop off that belief, quickly.

It’s a poor lifestyle choice in my opinion.

I think it’s trashy.

I went to a hookah lounge once. I hated it. Doesn’t surprise me though- I hate all forms of smoking.

It’s just not appealing and a waste of money IMO.

What’s more, some people are now suggesting that fried chicken might be psychologically addictive

Well, when you grow up on it, and it’s your only source of food for a few days, yeah.

Thank god I went down the healthy route.

^ You still come off as all high and mighty. I gotta admit, I used to be like that too. As I got older, I relaxed a lot more.

And on the whole health thing - Almost all the people I know that smoke are athletes. Many of them are on a XC team that competes for state championships. Trust me, they’re alive and well.

^erm… you don’t die from a few smokes. You die from the cancer later on in life. So of course smokers are still alive…

^^Yeah, I knew the one lady who smoked and lived to be 90. There’s no way smoking has serious negative effects on your health.

…Points taken. I suppose what I was trying to illustrate was that you do not instantly die after taking a couple hits, as some people seem to think.

^ I don’t think anyone thinks that.

You took that literally.

Hookah is fun if you’re with a group of friends. I even have shisha at home but i don’t use it.

Btw, Hookah isn’t expensive…over here it’s like around $7 for one session. I even went to the supermarket and they have shisha on sale for aroud $16 --it came with the hookah and -3 packs o the flavored tobacco.

I know it’s so bad for you…but the key is to use it in moderation  I think smoking is gross too but I only smoke hookah occasionally and I usually share it…

but how harmless would the smoking be later on in life if you smoked in
moderation?

really? why?

I’d say cigarettes are trashier… just my opinion.

Some of you have no sense of culture. As I’ve said, the hookah is a social thing. It’s smoked occasionally during group sessions, especially in the Middle East. It’s not meant to be smoked as cigarettes are smoked; you’re not supposed to inhale.

Out of every person I’ve seen smoke a hookah, (literally, almost everyone that i know) i haven’t come across one of them who became addicted to it.

You need to have fun once in a while. Try new things, even if you’re not comfortable with them at first.

Because we don’t like hookah, we have no sense of culture? Is that what you’re saying?

There are other ways to have fun. Having an asthma attack doesn’t sound appealing to me. Thanks.

Oh, wow. shudder It’s smoke-related…I just don’t like the idea of tar coming close to your mouth voluntarily under any condition. Sounds slightly gross lol?

^^No one cares that you don’t want to, but you talk about it like it’s some awful stupid decision for everyone else.
