Hopeful wishing or stupidity? Chance me :/

Disclaimer: I know that my stats/resume are not up to par with the average Columbia applicant, and I already know that Columbia is a big reach for me. :)

Basically my question is: is there that chance I might get in or is there seriously no point in hoping?

Recs: I haven't read them, but I'm very close with one of the teachers that rec'd me (my newspaper/AP Lit teacher), pretty much a first-name basis. Other one will probably be good, but nothing special. Counselor rec: my school is huge, so it’ll be impersonal and probably only tell colleges my stats and how competitive my school is.

Essay: People have told me it's amazing, my newspaper teacher's mom who reads college essays gave me a 100 on it. Very personal.

(Korean female, Georgia)

Georgia is underrepresented, I think...

Hahaha, I was thinking the same thing when I was posting this. xD

You've got passion, interest in Korea.
That's cool.

Don't worry about the %&#!ing stats!
Good luck. And no stressing. :)

You've done well in high school, and will go to a good college somewhere, quite possibly Columbia, and don't let anyone tell you something good or bad about your "stats." If you want to go to college, and you're a good student + all that other stuff, you'll go somewhere good.

These chance-me things are silly.

Apps are in, so just try to relax and get some scholarship money now.

We have very similar stats (writing, music) and the same SAT score (except my writing was a little higher) and I was accepted. Have hope!

Awesome! :D

And I'm not as much stressed as hoping to death that I'll get in. >< I have started to stalk fastweb religiously, though.
