I just graduated this spring 2015 with my AA in criminal justice. I’m looking to transfer to FSU spring 2016, majoring in sociology which is a non limited access major. I have a 2.95 gpa. My concern is not meeting the sophomore/junior requirements of a 3.0 on a 4.0 scale on all attempted course work. I have two D’s from a math class, retook it for a
3rd time and got a B+. I could possibly take two courses at my state college this summer to help raise my gpa to at least a 3.1. I already put my application in and there was a section for courses that I’m currently taking or will be taking. Is it too late to make changes to that?
Can someone please chance me?
If FSU is still taking materials for spring 2016, then I imagine you would just be able to email admissions and make changes accordingly. I don’t know much about the FSU transfer process, but I’m guessing they are nowhere near close to starting admissions for spring 2016, so you should be fine.
As long as you get your repeated course credit on your transcript and to FSU by the November 1 (or shortly after if they allow it), you will probably be ok.
@camover on their website it says they are currently taking applications for spring 2016. Do you know anything about Famu? Could I get in there easier?
Just but some browsing on the FAMU website, you sound like a shoo-in there.
Still definitely try for FSU though, if you can get your GPA above a 3.0. If you can take classes this summer and get your grades in by November 1, that should help for FSU for next spring.
@camover thanks for all your help!
