The JHU ESP program seems like a great option for working professionals to gain a Master’s degree and make connections in DC. I have heard that the professors in the Environmental program are well-regarded professionals and the quality of teaching is very impressive. Many of the profs are currently working in the environmental field and teach classes so they have great potential for networking. Overall the program seems great but I have certain doubts about it and I was curious if anyone could offer an opinion on it.
While work experience is certainly more important than a degree, a Hopkins M.S. degree undoubtedly opens doors, especially in the competitive Environmental field in the DC area. I am transitioning careers so I am hoping this degree might help me get my foot in the door. Also, Rachel Carson (arguably the main catalyst for the environmental movement and creation of the Environmental Protection Agency) went to JHU so I can see this program really developing over the years. It really seems like a solid program that could offer good connections and opportunities over the years.
I was wondering if anyone had any actual experience with the program, because it seems like it could be a great investment, but I have some doubts about it still. So I am hoping to hear the opinion here! Thank you for your thoughts.
