I was fortunate enough to get a fellowship for my first year of grad school but it is not all that it is cracked up to be. I am starting to think I made the wrong decision. After learning about teaching methods and problems and getting the opertunity to teach a very small group of students (English language--conversation, and general tutoring), I think I would rather go into language education than applied linguistics. I'm also interested in getting certified to teach in public schools, but the current program I am in does not offer state certification--I'd have to go to the school of education to pursue this. I really feel bad because I am in this situation....I'm really not happy where I am. Could this just be first semester blues? I will have to write back again when I am feeling better.
