I’m the only person doing this event in my school, and the HOSA website doesn’t go into much detail about the event, or the type of questions posed in the event, simply stating the body systems.
If anyone did this event before and has advice on what specifically to study (ex: Do I need to know ALL diseases in Essentials of Human Diseases?) or any general study tips, that would be great! I have both of the recommended HOSA books. Thank you so much!
Anyone?
I did this event a couple years ago. It was actually pretty easy (placed 2nd at states without much study). I wouldn’t sweat it, the questions are pretty general, and by no means would I memorize every disease in that book (there’s like 500+, its ridiculous to memorize that much lol!). Good luck on your event, hope you place!
That being said, I did take an anatomy/physio course prior to the event, which gave me a basic understanding of the content covered on the test. what I would do is learn the general content of each system and understand how things work instead of solely memorizing terms.
@Periso thanks for the advice. My regionals was actually on Dec 12th and I got 2nd there, but I’ll definitely keep this in mind for state
