i want to apply to a b.s./m.d. hospital and my question is would it look better if i stict to ONE hospital as a volunteer and do 300+ hours there
or
volunteer at 3-5 different hospitals and get a total of 300+ hours??
thanks

I've volunteered at one hospital for the past two years and think that it would be better to show dedication to one volunteer program. Your relationships with advisors will be better therefore resulting in better recommendations and dedication is never frowned upon.

i think 3-5 is just way too many and it probably wouldn't look good. it looks better to volunteer at 1 or 2 places because it shows commitment and it would be easier for you to get more involved in each palce rather than spreading yourself over 5 places and not making an effect anywhere.

If you jump around too much without a good reason it might look as if you didn't do well at any of them.

On the other hand, if you got some opportunity for a special experience, that might be worth switching your volunteer location. Remember, without clinical training (or being on the payroll), your volunteer experience will be farily limited to routine stuff (answering phones, delivering items, running errands, etc....)

It is best that you stay at one place. Hopefully, you will be able to get a letter of recommendation by some one who knows you.
