Did anyone else get a call from some Hotchkiss kids and get to have a talk with them? I know they can't possible call EVERY applicant, but I'm wondering if this is common. Has anyone heard of this happening in previous years and did anyone else get the call?

Similarly, how much should I read into this call? I know that I should never become over-confident, but it's hard to keep knocking myself down. Does this seem like a good sign or just the admissions office trying to get some applicants to fall even more in love with the school?

I received a similar call from Exeter. Did everyone get a call?

I didn’t get one from Exeter… DON’T MAKE ME NERVOUS!!!

What was the call about? Clarifying something on the app? Asking for more info? Just saying hi? :)

Did they ask if your refrigerator was running? =D>

lol the Exeter call was from a student asking if we had any further questions.

@booklady123 First, there was a call from an AO asking if I would like to speak to some students. Then, some students called me and told me more about Hotchkiss. I also got to have a Q & A with them for any questions I still had.

Neat! I would imagine that is a very good sign?

I’m really nervous now since I didn’t get a call, but then my last name starts with an X…

I don’t have that excuse! uh-oh

If it helps, I am early in the alphabet. And they couldn’t possibly call EVERYONE. Afterall, they admit hundreds of students.

True… good luck, everyone, and be sure to report your results!

I don’t want to be that guy but I’m towards the end of the alphabet

@needtoboard Are you a guy or a girl?

Another possibility is that one AO just called the people whose files they were in charge of. There is nothing to be worried about. Out of the thousands of applicants, chances of being called are very slim.

The Exeter call was from a student, but I think it was for a certain demographic of applicants because I know someone else who received a call.

You mean a geographical demographic?

Hmm, well hopefully that’s true ^^
