Does staying at Biddle make sense? Is it then walking distance to the Red Carpet check-in spot, so that once I've parked at Biddle, I'm set?
Alternatively, I'm looking at the Hilton Garden. Is that a long drive to campus? An easy drive at 8.45 in the morning?
Any other thoughts on accommodation for the 2 nights (-we're coming from CA so we have to have a day of travel either side of the Red Carpet day).

If you can get a room at the Biddle, that’s the most convenient. You’ll park there and everything is walking distance. Depending on your definition of “walking distance”, even the Hilton Garden Inn is walking distance, as it is less than 1 mile from the Sample Gates (the “entrance” to IU’s campus). We’ve always stayed at the TownePlace Suites, which is an easy 10-minute drive to campus. If you drive to campus, give yourself extra time to navigate through pedestrians, somewhat confusing one-way streets and the ever-changing road construction. Have fun!

We stayed at the Courtyard Marriott. It was a very quick drive. Some people would say it’s walkable, but we weren’t sure what time the red carpet day activities would be done, so we drove.

We stayed at the Biddle and it was perfect. The Red Carpet presentations were actually on the floor we stayed on. At lunch, we checked out of our room but were able to keep our car in the parking lot at the hotel which was very convenient.

Stayed at the Hilton Garden for Red Carpet Day 3 weeks ago. Driving to Memorial Union was a breeze in the morning and we parked in 1 of the 2 lots next to the Union. Red Carpet Day attendees have their parking ticket stamped for free parking, thus, not an issue. No issue finding many available spots and it was a weekday

Have a campus map handy, beware one way streets, know where the parking lots are… Have stayed at Biddle twice, convenient, clean, rooms are small but fine. Food court - not so good. Head over to Kirkwood
