To hotel school applicants: do any of u have a copy of the recommendation u sent in from a manager at the hotel u work at? that is, if u decided to send in such a recommendation. if u wouldn't mind, could u please post it here? thanks so much!!!

I posted my reccomendation a while ago. Just check my recent posts and it should be like 10-25 back. If you can't find it, I will re-post it for you. :)

I looked at ur past 100 posts and didn't find it. :(
Wow!! u had a lot of posts. I would really appreciate it if u could repost it for me. I'm going to send in a recommendation from the general manager at my hotel, so I just wanted to see a sample. Hopefully, the recommendation will strengthen my app. a bit. Also, should I send in a picture of me if I never gave one to my interviewer (on-campus) when I applied ED? I just don't want a part of my app. to be missing, but I'm afraid they won't take it because I didn't send it in at the right time. Could u just give me some suggestions? Thanks so much!!!

ach44: can u please repost it for me?

Yummi,
I think you should ask that question (about the picture) directly to the hotel school's admissions office. Private contacts give them the idea that you are truly interested in their program, and actually give you the best answers. I sent my picture along with my supplementary recommendation after contacting the office.
Gluck :)

Can anybody please send me a sample of their hotel recommendations, because I just got an internship at a four star hotel in Bangkok and just finished another in a ticketing/booking etc company. The CEO of the booking companies (more than one - one for inbound, other for outbound) have not written a recommendation in english before, so I think he needs to see a sample before he can write one (email:waternam@gmail.com), etc.
Just need to know what one would look like and say ^^,

PS do universities want to have it on the hotel and firm's letterhead and also do they want to or can we send them information on the hotel's exclusiveness or high service etc (like a hotel brochure or introduction etc?) And also because I was not introduced to the hotel internship by anybody and was done by myself by contacting each hotel (around 6) and getting a response from this one hotel (THE DAVIS) a 4 star boutique hotel in middle of the city, can I talk about how this was a new experience for me to look for a job without anybody's help at an exclusive hotel like the DAVIS?

Please any info on what we can and how we should send to cornell SHA would be a lot of help. Thanks ^^

I tried asking ach44 to repost his hotel recommendation, but he hasn't posted it yet. Hopefully, he'll do it sometime soon. :)

"Dear sir/madame, The Holiday Inn Mt. Kisco had the pleasure to employ Andrew Haight this during and extending past his summer break. He did an outstanding job serving our guests in the Market Street Cafe. A number of guests had commented on his attentiveness, friendliness and desire to serve. His co-workers and supervisors were impressed by his strong work ethic and dependability. He quickly adapted to our procedures and standards. Andrew also expressed an eagerness to learn about our poperty's overall operation, mission and direction. We would welcome him to rejoin our operation so that he may be exposed to other areas and responsibilities within the hotel. I am confident that Andrew can become an asset to your student body and our industry." Sincerely, Richard Jabara of Meyer Jabara Hotels

Sorry it took so long for me to put it up.
