<p>First off, I don't really have any official work experience in the hospitality industry but I have lots of leadership positions and I was/am a lifeguard (was wondering if I could mold this into my essay to demonstrate hospitality experience) and I volunteered at an Adult Day Care Center over the summer where I prepared and served meals for breakfast and lunch for the elderly. Would the last volunteer position sort of count?</p>
<p>Really, the main reason they want to see you have work experience is because it shows interest in the hospitality industry. I don’t know if I would try to mold an essay about how lifeguarding is a form of hospitality; it might be a waste. You should use the supplementary essay to make sure they understand why you’re interested in the hospitality industry and how the hotel school can help you reach where you want to be. </p>
<p>Your experience at the day care center is definitely a form of hospitality. You could mention it in your essay.</p>
