Hotels in or near Amherst

Hi,
I’m hoping that someone can recommend a hotel for a parent in or around Amherst that has a restaurant or room service for people whose flight gets in fairly late.
Thanks so much!

I would recommend the Marriott Courtyard or the Holiday Inn Express, although neither has a restaurant. I don’t know of any hotels that do in Amherst, but there are many restaurants within a very short distance of both of these hotels that would be open late. I know there is an Applebees that is within 1/2 mile of both of these hotels.

The diner on Rt 9 (near all the hotels) is open 24 hours.

^
That’s good to know SOHW. Where is it on 9? I will be there Thursday for 5 days. :)

I think it’s called the Route 9 Diner. It’s by the Mobil station with the car washes on the north side of Route 9. It’s in the same shopping center as the TJ Maxx/Stop N Shop. It’s a grey aluminum building. I haven’t had a bad meal there.

We stayedcat the campus center in the umass campus. Good value for money. We walked to the amherst campus-about 35 minutes.

I liked the Hampton Inn in South Hadley, which served breakfast but not dinner. Tripadvisor ranks it best among the hotels in Hadley ([Hampton Inn Hadley-Amherst (Hadley, MA) - Hotel Reviews - TripAdvisor](http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g41592-d1523292-Reviews-Hampton_Inn_Hadley_Amherst-Hadley_Massachusetts.html)), which in an of itself is not a compelling distinction, but the staff is helpful and it felt new and clean.

How late will they be getting in?

This is all very helpful! Coming into town at around 8:30 without a car, so there’s an issue of transportation or distance between the hotel and the restaurant. A full service hotel with room service serving later than the average restaurant would be ideal, but it sounds as if there’s nothing like that in the vicinity. And I don’t suppose there are taxis roaming the steets of Amherst and South Hadley…

For the most part, those hotels are right along Route 9 and the PVTA route runs right along there. It would be easy and inexpensive to take the bus to one of those restaurants or into the town of Amherst.
