Hotels near USC-Move in day

Another possibility for those who don't want to stay in downtown L.A. is to go to hotwire.com and go for one of the 3 or 4 star hotels in the Century City neighborhood of Los Angeles.

How far is Century City? Are there good restaurants/ shopping around?

Century City should have lots of good restaurants. I believe there are a lot of law firms there.

Century City is in between the beach and downtown LA--on the West side. It is probably around a 45 minute drive to USC depending upon traffic. Very nice area with high rises, not on the beach, adjacent to Beverly Hills. Convenience wise, it is probably best to stay at the Raddisson USC or downtown LA. However, my husband got a good rate on hotwire.com for a Century City hotel (I think it was the Intercontinental for $170. a night) for orientation. The good hotels at that time in June were over $300. a night.

mdcissp, for hotwire, it's not bidding, right, the price they have is the price you pay for?
