My D and I will be visiting USC/Thornton School of Music next month. I'm leaning toward staying at the Radisson, since it looks so convenient. I'm just curious about driving through the city. We live outside Washington DC and I can handle that type of traffic, but if it's more like NYC or Boston, I might be tempted to stay outside the city and use public transportation to get around. Is that feasible? Any recommendations for logistics?

I just came back from USC and it is not like NYC at all. It is normal. We stayed up the street at LA live. It was great.

You can drive, it’s not super-dense traffic like NY is. Radisson is expensive but it is very convenient. Do not use public transportation, it is terrible.

We’ve stayed at the Radisson and in downtown hotels (rewards points, lol) when visiting USC and it isn’t difficult by car. You can get a much better price at the Radisson when you do it in a package deal with airfare :)

traffic near USC shouldn’t be difficult. The Radisson is very convenient, but LA Live is quite close and might be more fun - with some better special hotel rates. Can you D make some arrangements for an overnight on campus in one of the dorms?
