<p>Does anybody know any cheap and safe hotels near USC? Preferably north of it, along I-5? My family is all coming down with me for orientation, but just staying in LA-area instead of attending orientation. What is a good place that is under $80 that is live-able for 3 nights?</p>

<p>Not sure about under under $80 but the Vagabond USC is 1 block from campus and runs about $109 for a double queen room. They have “quiet” hours after 10pm. Safe, cheap and quiet (and a pool/free parking/mini breakfast). We stayed here during Thornton auditions and it was great - lots of future USC families. (try to ask for a room on the south side. The north side has student housing apartments right next door and can be noisy on Thurs/Fri nights.)</p>
