House Ownership Fafsa-Independent Student

So I will soon own my family's home (I'm co-buying it with my aunt). My mother, aunt, and two sisters (one who has two children 2 and 8 years old) live there currently free of rent and I live there during winter break and summer break (I even have my car there and the majority of my procession).

Unfortunately, when I'm away at school I cannot live there (my family home is in Southern California and my school is in Northern California), however, I plan to move back in a year when I finish school.

I'm also consider an independent student.

So my question is do I have to list my house as an asset or is it still considered my primary home since it is not rented and I receive no income from it?

I think it is your primary home. No student lives in their family home while in school unless possibly commuting . So, no, it is not.

Primary home since you live there.

If it is a property under your name (even co-own), it better be your primary home.
