Housing after Freshman year

I found this on Wikipedia: [First Presbyterian Church, San Luis Obispo - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia](First Presbyterian Church (San Luis Obispo, California) - Wikipedia)

"Front Porch, (Presbyterians of Reasoned Christian Hope) is a ministry of the Santa Barbara Presbytery (PCUSA) in partnership with FPCSLO. Front Porch is directed by Beau Tanner Smith. While many participants are Presbyterians, many are not. [3]

[edit] Housing Project
In the Spring of 2008, the City of San Luis Obispo approved the construction of a Housing Project to supplement the ministry of Front Porch. The project is to be built on the site of the old Front Porch building near the dead-end of Foothill Blvd. near the Cal Poly campus. This project includes approximately 40 rooms, a ministry hall, a cafe, a kitchen, and a residence for the director and her/his family. The project is schedule to be completed in mid 2010."

Parentalunit58, after 7 years of Catholic schooling my son is leaning towards Buddhism. My guess is the Front Porch is out for him as well.
Back to the thread, does anybody have any secular suggestions for off campus housing? My son and a friend tried to get a place at Cedar Creek but lost out. What other alternatives are there that are not total zoos and/or dumps?

I have not lived there, but I am involved in the ministry. What happened was the church owned the property and it became necessary to build a new ministry center. While they were building, the decided to use the rest of the land to build the townhouses. However, there is no religious requirement to living in the townhouses. We do not interact with the residents, unless they choose to interact with us. Some of them like to come and take advantage of the coffee shop or the game room, but that is entirely up to them. Since the property in managed by a management, the students living there never have to talk to the pastor or anyone else from ministry if they don’t want to since all of the things involved with renting go through the management company.
