My housing survey says I’ve been assigned a room. Does anyone know when’s the earliest people usually hear back? Askingcause it says I’ve been assigned and am wondering what could make it take so long to hear back

My son tells me that he has been assigned a room too. He thinks that they will let students know at the end of June because on the list to do for the month of July is contact your roommate. I’m curious to know that if a student during orientation meets someone that they really get along with, if there is a possibility that you could request to be roommates or at least live in the same dorm.

You usually hear some time in July. If you meet someone that you think much be a good roommate, you can request to change your housing form.

Having a random roommate isn’t bad, either! I requested a roommate and she ended up not being the greatest fit freshman year (although I was in a quad). Keep in mind that it’s not so much that you’re friends, but that you can live well together.
