<p>How does housing work at UW? Is it a random lottery? Do you have any say in which dorm you are given? Is there preference delegated by class? </p>

<p>I was also able to find the answer to the same question basically looking at the deadlines. Notice Priority 1 is current residents, Priority 2A is new applicants for undergraduate/incoming freshmen and 2B is just a later version for those who miss the 2A deadline. From what I know, after they reach your priority level it’s based off lottery. </p>
<p>Oh, and you do have a say. You pick on your application what dorms you would like to be put in! A friend who goes there said you rank them from most-desired to least. It may have changed though since he went. He attended first in '09. </p>
