There seem to be no patterns in the way they choose dorms for new students.

One friend, priority 2A (May 1 to 15) got his top choice (Haggett).

Another friend, also 2A, got one of their bottom choices (Alder).

Yet another friend, 2A, have basically been put on a waitlist, having been told that North campus is 100% full already, and that they'll be given a dorm room somewhere if/when someone drops their room assignment.

I'm Priority 2B (May 15 to 31). I submitted my application on like May 20th, as soon as I got accepted. If everything is already full and even people on 2A have been told to wait, am I just s*** out of luck here? Is there even a possibility of me just not getting any housing at all?

All I know is, I'm praying not to get Hansee, I hear it's the worst. 24/7 quiet time, all singles? Noo.

Yeah, I know. It’s weird. But, they did the first 3000 priority 2A students and are seeing who cancels and who’s staying, so they can do that whole assigning based on preference again. I’m pretty sure you’ll find housing as quite a few people drop out. Heck, even I’m not too sure on dorming since my friend is pressuring to apartment with him.

Yeah, I was gonna get an apartment but the people I would’ve considered dorming with are either already dorming with other people (they got in on March 15th, I got in on May 15th, so it’s too late) or they’re commuting from home.

And I think that having no specific roommate requests might make it easier for them to find a room (one space, as opposed to two) for you.

I know that all priority 2A students are guaranteed housing. The next wave will be sent out on June 22nd. And also back to your original post, for the dorming has been all over the place right now. I know that there is a process for switching rooms if another person is willing to do that, the only problem is that Hansee is the least popular dorm by far, so yes, pray you don’t get that.

If you think Hansee is the worst, then you haven’t had a bad roommate. Buy some headphones for your music and enjoy some peace and quiet. lol

Almost all apartments have quiet hours all the time too, Hansee is most like adult life.

@Metalninjacake: go to www.dailyuw.com and look up rooms for rent too. There can be some of them that are cool. Also www.apodment.com

So I don’t mean to be inconsiderate, but would your friend who is in alder want to switch into terry? Because I applied within minutes of the form coming out and I got put into Terry, which wasn’t close to being a top choice.

-___-
at least you’re not priority 4. I just hope that i get in a dorm at least lol. applied may 14th, so maybe im not out of luck. but looking at your situation, im not so sure.

I’m priority 2A and I still haven’t been assigned yet. Don’t know how many of you are having the same problem. Perhaps they give preference to in-state students with housing?..
