When I got my UF acceptance it said my contract submission deadline was February 26th, but my roommate's acceptance said March 12. Does anyone know why there were different dates and does my roommate's late date doom us to a late triple. My roommate paid her $25.00 application fee last week, but I paid mine back in October. Thanks.

Since you paid the 25.00 before the the acceptance date of Feb. 8 you were suppose to complete you housing contact by feb. 26 to keep your priority number.

Since she paid hers after Feb 8 she has later contract period.

I did pay my housing contract by february 26th, but my question is that because she only paid her deposit last week and will have a very low priority number, practically, does that mean we will be in a triple (something neither of us wants)?

No, I don’t believe so. I am pretty sure if you both request each other, they put you together by the earliest housing contract completed (yours). Hope I’m right ;)

Actually they say very clearly that its based on the latest housing deposit date. Does anyone have any historical information about options for those who submitted their housing deposit in early March? The more specific (e.g. typically available dorms -rawlings, springs, etc. and types of rooms-doubles, triples, quads) the better. Information for both Summer B and the fall would be very helpful. Thanks.

My son is a current freshman living in the dorms. He had the earliest possible sign-up date and his roommate’s was a later one. My son was able to log on on his date, search for a room with two vacancies, claim his spot in the room and reserve the other spot for his friend by typing in the friend’s name and UF ID. The friend then received an e-mail from housing and had 24 hours to confirm. It was an easy process, and I don’t think you will have any trouble getting a dorm that you want along with your friend.

Thanks that makes me feel better.
