I have a question about the housing contracts. I submitted my housing application about 2-3 weeks before my friend submitted hers, however she has received a housing contract while I still have not. The only difference is she has been accepted into her major while I am still waiting on news. I have been accepted into the college however (auto-admit) so will I have to wait till I’m accepted into a major in order to receive a housing contract offer? Or is there another reason perhaps?
@michaelam867 Housing contracts are offered to students who have accepted their admission to UT by paying the enrollment deposit. Since you don’t have a major, you can’t accept your admission yet. Room assignments are made based on the date on which your housing application was complete. You’ve already done that, so you’re all set for now.
Actually, my son had the option of accepting his enrollment prior to getting his major. At least he had a button that said he could as soon as the auto admit notice came. We did not click on it. He didn’t want to do that but it might be something to consider.
I was able to accept my admission as soon as I was auto-admitted, so I’ve already payed the 200$ enrollment deposit. Guess I’ll just wait awhile and see what happens.
