I wanted to know what housing spring admits get if they get bumped up into the fall. Will spring admits that get moved up to the fall get freshman dorms or do they get whatever is left? Is it possible to apply for housing before July 1st and maybe get housing if a spring admit gets moved up to the fall?

Were you at the admitted students meeting yesterday? They had a full coverage about this. Answer is whatever is available, and you can requestm, byt it does not mean anything.

You can apply before July 1 but it won’t really make a difference. USC won’t look at your housing application until July 1 and the chance of you actually getting into the housing you want is too low to even worry about.

Many of the spring admits are heading towards the brand new University Gateway housing facility just across Jefferson Blvd. from campus. Here’s the website:

While by my calculations it’s about $3,000 more per year than living in a dorm, that sum is more than offset by not having to pay USC tuition for a semester. Our strategy, which was formulated by a 2009 spring admit, is to enroll at Santa Monica College for the fall semester, take care of some of the General Education requirements there, and live at University Gateway so you can take part in the USC social scene.

That’s the plan, anyway.

trop: good idea. but, don’t you have to be cali resident to get “in state” community college tuition? is sccc on semester or quarters?

Can you live in University Gateway during fall semester if you are a spring admit?

you can stay at university gateway in the fall, but you also have to stay for spring

To both freshman and upperclassmen female spring admits:
If you are looking for an awesome place to live for your spring semester at USC, Cardinal Gardens is a great option. It is located on the corner of Jefferson and McClintock and is set up unit style. It is located right next to the University Village (for all your grocery, food, and Starbucks needs!) and is a short walk from the Row. It is also across the street from campus, very close to Cafe 84 and the Lyon exercise center. I live with only one other roommate and the place has a great set up. Unlike other apartments in the complex, we have new hardwood floors and couches. The apartment has a walk in closet, walk in pantry, and is fully furnished!

I am moving to another area and need to sublet my room in my apartment.

The apartment is approximately 865 square feet and has built in high-speed WIFI internet (as well as 2 ethernet wall plugs in the bedroom) and laundry room in the back. There is a beautiful courtyard between the two buildings with two charcoal grills and 2 large circular fire pits.

Apartment provides a small dining room, a kitchen (with dishwasher, stove-top oven, fridge and garbage disposal), a very large living room and vertical blinds in both living room and bedroom. Has AC and heat and is overall a very comfortable place to live.

Subletting my bedroom, bathroom, 2 closets and 2 storage cabinets to either one person to pay $1500 or two people to pay $750.

Cats are OK.

Utilities (water, power, gas) are not included. Underground parking space is included in price.

If interested, please Private Message me or e-mail me at gilbard@usc.edu

I am negotiable on the price, so please don’t be afraid to offer what you can pay!

I am looking for a female to take over my spring lease. I live in a two bedroom, four person apartment, which is $2,920/semester (one of the cheapest on-campus housing rates at USC I believe). Century is right next to Cardinal Gardens and is literally just a few steps away from University Village and across the street from campus. My roommates are incredibly nice people, and my roommate is very sweet and easy to get along with. The apartment is fully furnished. I will even help you move in and get settled! Email me at phuongln@usc.edu if you’re interested!
