Housing -Freshman ?

Hi. This is directed at existing students (and/or parents of existing students).

If a student applies and is accepted to a particular school (ex: "Warren"), are they required (as a freshman) to live in the Warren Residence Halls?

I guess to expand my question, into sub-sections.

(1) Are first year freshman required to live "On-Campus"?

(2) If a student lives on Campus (either by choice, or as required), is a student required to live in the Housing that is associated with his/her College (Warren, Muir, 6th, etc.).

(3) What are the pros and cons of the different Residence Halls?

thanks.

no, you can live off-campus and commute to the school during your first year. (i have commuter friends who are also freshman)

Yes, if you got into warren, you have to live in warren, unless there is no more room in warren, in which case you and other warren students that sent in your housing application late will be sent to an overflow college (like the warren students this year that didnt have room to live in warren were sent to live in revelle res halls)

if u mean living in one college’s res halls as opposed to another (ie. living in warren res hall opposed to marshall res halls), there is really no pros/cons. u meet people no matter which college’s res halls u live in.

You can also apply to live in the Warren apartments if you want. That’s a possibility.

Thank you both, for the info.
