Ok, i know this is a long ways away, but do ED people get better dorms? i read that it's a lottery, but do you get to state your preference for which dorm you want to be in? which dorm is best according to your opinion? and also, are the triple rooms any larger than the double rooms?

i dont think ED people get better dorms... it's a privilege enough that they get in early and don't have to worry about other college applications.

ED people don't get better dorms. You can't request a particular dorm, just a particular type of room. You can usually get a single on East if you want, otherwise you will probably be in a double. I don't think there are that many triples.

No, ED people do not get better dorms, and you do not get to state a prefence on your housing form...it's completely random. Of course, there are the FOCUS clusters...athletes live together...wellness has historically been in Brown...but you really have no say in picking.

Well, there are only 3 AC dorms, but they're off the main quad, and 2 of them (Blackwell and Randolph) have incredibly small rooms. The rest of the dorms are very similar, and very nice...there's no "best" dorm at Duke. You'll end up loving wherever you live based on the people...that's really what makes the experience.

"there's no "best" dorm at Duke"

cough belltower cough

but anyway, yeah, I have to agree, each dorm has its own pro and cons and I really haven't heard of any one in particular who hates his/her dorm.

<3 Aycock

haha, well logistically speaking...belltower probably is THE best dorm when it comes to amenities. plasma tv's. ac. huge rooms. elevators. yeah ok maybe so.

BUT to me Jarvis is. You'll love where you end up. It's an added plus if its belltower:)
