Son received official offer for Wall today…no word on Greenbaum as yet…must accept by the 28th…

Congrats! I wish my son would wake up and look at his mail! Does your son prefer Wall or Greenbaum if he gets the choice?

Given that both are relative unknowns, but that Greenbaum will be new, he’ll probably opt for Greenbaum.

My son got into Wall too! He’s excited and relieved!

@dolphnlvr6 - He does know this means he has to clean his own bathroom, right?

lol, yeah, that’s going to be interesting. 4 boys and one bathroom. I shudder to think about it!

The good news is they do provide the toilet paper… ;)

HAHA! For what we have to pay for them to live on campus I sure hope so!

Indeed! It will be interesting to see what happens to rental prices in the areas just off campus when Tulane finishes building all the new dorms. One would think they would drop quite a bit, if a lot more students do indeed choose to stay in the dorms all 4 years.

Still nothing from Greenbaum…sort of surprising the feedback isn’t coordinated…happy for your son @dolphinlvr6

Well, I don’t think there is that much of a hurry to make a decision. When do they say they need to hear back by?

The 28th! Not much time at all.

Words of wisdom from my D who lived in Wall this past year: She has heard that the rooms in Greenbaum are going to be smaller than the ones in Wall (which really were a nice size). She also really liked the outdoor space in Wall which Greenbaum won’t have. Even though Greenbaum is new, Wall was redone just a few years ago and is still in very good condition. If most of your classes are in Newcomb, than Greenbaum is closer, but Wall is closer to Bruff. In reality, it probably won’t matter that much because they will make friends in either dorm and they are both nicer than the other ones.

So, if it’s important to your child to be in one of those two, I’d say a bird in hand…

May 28th? That makes no sense. I don’t understand what they are doing. This seems really accelerated compared to what I remember.

My son just told me there is a waitlist for Wall. Kids are posting on the FB page that they got waitlisted for it!

Ah, I see. I guess that is why they want quick decisions. Well, I think cyclonehome said it right, I doubt if there is much difference between the two in terms of overall likeability. To me the biggest unknown is how loud it will be on the Boot side of Greenbaum, especially on weekends. Hopefully they invested some extra $$ in soundproofing.

Regarding the comment about outdoor space, though, won’t that large grassy area between Newcomb Hall and Broadway be a nice space for the kids living in Greenbaum? Not to mention that Newcomb quad on the other side of the building is basically right there as well.

Still nada from Greenbaum…Walls info was batched out at 11pm last night, so very possibly the same timeframe will go for tonight. Obviously both houses need to go out sort of together so that a choice (if options are even there to consider) can be made by Wednesday at midnight. I do recall that one of the emails specifically said decisions would be out by the “end” of the 26th

Her comment about the outdoor space was with regards to being able to go outside without leaving the building - her room opened up to the outside and there is the courtyard inside of Wall along with the breezeways where they can sit outside and study or get a tan without even going downstairs.

@vandyeyes any word on Greenbaum yet?

Son emailed earlier this morning asking about when to expect to hear…emailed response said later today sometime…
