Housing / Parking?

I except to be accepted and I’m in Charleston, so I will have to dorm.

  1. Are on-campus freshmen allowed to have cars? At CofC, freshmen who live on campus cannot own a car.
  2. How does housing work? I saw on the website it may be by major (I want to major in Computer Information Systems), but I don't know any information beyond that.

You can have a car, but it is very expensive to park due to its central city location. I’m not sure how housing works though.

Yes, you can buy a surface parking sticker or one for a garage. All this is on website - search for parking to see where lots and garages are and the cost.

If you look at housing site you will see the steps to get housing. You can list your favorite housing, priority is when you applied, not when accepted. There is housing based on majors/interest plus general housing (girls community, boys community)… When you are accepted, you will get instructions on applying for housing.
