I know some colleges don't allow students living in the dorms to have cars...does unc let freshmen have cars and park them on campus?

I think they don't let freshmen have cars, but all other years you do (for a hefty fee ofcourse). My UNC senior friends say that the transportation system is good enough that cars arent really necessary. If i recall correctly, it may even be free. They also said that the parking lots are kinda far, so its only worth using them if you plan on going somewhere outside of the UNC area. For any other purposes, bum a ride off of a friend.

UNC doesn't allow freshmen to buy on-campus parking spots, which makes sense if you think about how large the student body is. I think its a lottery for sophmores to get spots. Granville Towers allows their freshmen residents to buy spots from their lots. There are places near campus that you could pay to park you car but its not cheap. You really don't need a car, but there are times when i wished I had a car nearby. But like I said you don't really need a car, most things are in walking distance and if you wanted to go to a mall (ie South Point) theres buses.
