I requested to be with a friend for my dorm and received my offer.</p>
<p>However, when will I find out who my roommates are and if my roommates are indeed those that I requested to be with?</p>

<p>If you and your friends put each others ID#'s on the form and requested roommates as your first priority AND you talk to them and they both got the same type of offer (same building, room type etc.) then you are probably fine. You won’t find out until late July or Aug. Last year my daughter requested a roommate and though they didn’t find out until later they both were offered plaza with shared bath so it was correct. BTW Dykstra is a very typical res hall. A triple will be crowded but you’re all friends! It will be very social and probably not too quiet. Could be a good thing or a bad thing!</p>

<p>I JUST found out the person I signed up with got HEDRICK Hall while I got DYKSTRA Hall…</p>

<p>if your requested roommate got another building than you, then its not most likely, its for sure. but if you insist on rooming with that person (or if you don’t like your building) you can submit a change of assignment request (car), which i’ve heard has been successful for some.</p>
<p>eddylee; Sorry it didn’t work out for you. You will meet more people this way though. My daughter had others friends attend UCLA when she started (last fall) but intentionally didn’t room with them becuase they knew they would meet more people if they were in different dorms. You can still hang out/dine with your friend but you’ll both be forced to meet and mingle more.</p>
<p>I chose not to room with any high school friends because I was afraid that I will settle into “niches” and not get to meet as many new people as I would like. It may be best for you, eddy, that you didn’t get to room with your friend. Think of it as an opportunity haha.</p>
<p>Hahaha yeah, I’m looking at it that way right now, I mean I’m perfectly fine with it, but it would have been cool if I did room with my friend. Im still super excited though.</p>
