I understand this varies at different colleges, but do I apply for housing at my current school (since I will not know if I get into a transfer school until the housing selection ends?)
Thanks!

The usual advice is to apply for housing where you are so that you do have a place to live if the transfer doesn’t work out.
However, if it is off campus housing, be careful about committing to a lease that you can’t get out of. You do not want to be paying for a place where you aren’t living after you have moved!
Yeah, it’s all about timing. Make sure you look over the lease contract you’ll probably have to sign. Double check to make sure that the length of time you’ll be staying at that space doesn’t conflict with the week you may be leaving to your new institution.
