Living Situation as a prospective transfer

Hey guys!

I’ve come to the conclusion that I am probably going to transfer for the upcoming 2017 - 2018 school year. I was discussing this with my parents and they mentioned about how my living situation is gonna work. I really want to get an off-campus apartment (preferably maintain or associated with the college) but I am concerned that they may not have any vacant spaces when decisions rolls around (late May I am assuming). Likewise, I have begun looking at the application and am concerned about what I should indicate for my living situation (off-campus or on-campus). Obviously, if I cannot find a vacant place I would like to live on-campus ( I wouldn’t be able to attend otherwise). At the same time, I don’t want to forced to live in a dorm if a spot does open up - allowing me to live off campus.

I really do not want to live on-campus (I know a few people at each college, so I am not concerned with meeting people) but,at the same time, it seems like I do not have option.

What should I do?

You need to find out the housing details at the place you are applying to. For example, at Happykid’s university, there were no spaces in the dorms for fall transfers but second semester transfers sometimes were able to find spaces in a dorm. So contact the housing office directly and work with them on this.
