Housing situation?

I'm still on the brink of deciding between colleges - Temple University being one of them. I realize that it's almost May 1st, and that the deposit and housing deadline is coming really fast. I plan on submitting my deposit/housing fees sometime this week...but I feel like I'm not going to have any decent on-campus housing option =( because I'm submitting these fees too late. Bad housing (I need good housing because I live 2 hours away) --> less roommate options = unhappiness. These concerns are keeping me from committing myself to the school.

You’re not going to have any of the better options, because they’re all filled.

Better options in terms of housing? Are even the [Deciding] LLC rooms gone too? If the things I mentioned are gone, then I guess I’m not going to Temple.

I dont know about the LLCs. I thought those were mostly in 1300, which is filled. Check the Facebook group.

I’ll check the FB group. The Deciding LLC is located in White Hall, which doesn’t sound too bad to me since the rooms are suites. Different types of LLCs are located in several residential halls (at least according to the TU website).

White Hall is awful.

What’s bad about White Hall? (By the way, none of the housing sounds appealing at all. I’m starting to warm up to the idea of staying in my state and going to a better school if it’s so negative there.)

So negative? What?

dionte, do you know if the Edge has AC? lol, i locked a spot there a few weeks ago without ever checking about that.

I meant negative as in the responses you stated (about available dorms being bad).

“You’re not going to have any of the better options, because they’re all filled.”

“White Hall is awful.”

Those words just don’t sound enticing at all to a prospective student.

Yes, the Edge has AC.

I’m sorry you waiting last minute to pick a school, and being left with, according to common knowledge, the worst dorm at Temple isn’t enticing…

Not anyone else’s fault but your own that you waited so long. I’m not sure why you’re complaining and saying I’m being negative. People who knew they wanted to go to Temple sent in their housing forms and whatnot for 1300, etc. What do you want me to say?

Yes, I realize I waited last minute, but it’s because only recently the other school I might attend just sent me my financial aid package. My family really needed time to compare them due to some unexpected events. Anyway, I made up my mind. Thanks for answering my questions in this forum.

is it possible to change rooms before the start of the semester?

lol i wish!!!1 dude, they just recently opened up the 2nd floor of 1300. i think that reserving to open up that floor til now is bull. they claimed that it was 1st come, first serve. if 1300 would have been available to me, i would have never booked a room in the Edge.now, i feel like switching too!but i’m a bit scared to,because my roomie seems quite nice and I don’t wanna end up with some weirdo and/or annoying creature.lol

My son submitted the enrollment and housing deposits last week (a few days before the May1 deadline). Is the 1300 housing “guaranteed” for incoming honors students?

it is only a sure thing if he is part of the honors living learning community,i think.
